Devon Dionne

Devon Dionne, the founder of Devon Pilates Los Angeles, first was introduced to the GYROTONIC® System, in New York while getting her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Dance Conservatory at SUNY, Purchase College, where she graduated at the top of her class. In 2003 while dancing professionally with the Buglisi Dance Company and while working closely with the Martha Graham Company she found the dancers used the GYROTONIC® modality to stay in shape and warm up before shows. This drove her to get certified in 2004 in both GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®.

After moving to Los Angeles in 2005, GYROTONIC® training became her main focus and passion. Yet, her education on the body had only just begun. One of her clients was a celebrity anti-aging doctor who trained and hired Devon as a patient educator on Bio-identical hormones. As she began to get curious about the internal body and its functions she furthered her training and got certified as a holistic health counselor from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in 2009. She then joined her husband, Rob, in hosting the Open Sky Fitness Podcast where they interviewed some of the top health and wellness professionals around the world.

In the GYROTONIC® System, Devon, holds dozens of certificates and certifications and 2006 has taught beginning levels of teacher trainings. She has also pursued a Pilates Certification through Balance Body to bring additional strength and simplicity to her toolbox. She works closely with many Chiropractors and Doctors who send her clients that are healing from back and shoulder injuries. She understands the anatomy and how to strengthen and/or avoid the necessary muscles in order to support the body and aide in its natural healing process.

Devon believes in a mind-body approach to physical training. She understands each body is different and yet every body is meant to have a strength and flexibility to move freely through life. Although teaching for almost 20 years, for many celebrities and high profile clientele, Devon considers herself a constant student and continues to always seek education on the developing science of the body and its movements.
